The Moors House - relax or explore the moor
Walking and hiking
The Moors House is situated on the moor enabling walkers to start hiking from the doorstep. We have a guest Boot / Drying room. Individual guided walks can be organised, please contact us further information.
Horse Riding
There are two local stables in the area, Eastlake, tel 01837 52513, and Skaigh, both are located in Belstone.
Golf
We provide golf vouchers, 2 green fees for the price of one, so come and play golf in Devon. The house has a seperate golf storage / drying room.
Cycling and mountain bike riding
There are a number of pre planned cycle routes to explore on Dartmoor, for more information visit the cycling pages on the Devon County Council website.
Water sports at Roadford
A variety of water sports are available at Roadford including Sailing, Kayaking and windsurfing, swlakestrust.org.uk.
Bird watching
Roadford has a bird hide at the Gaddacombe Car Park, swlakestrust.org.uk.
Letterboxing
Letterboxing started on Dartmoor in 1854, charity letterboxing events are organised on Dartmoor for further information please access the Dartmoor National Parks.
Village events
Throughout the year there are many events in the local villages, including Open Gardens, the Folk Festival, villages fairs and the beer festival.
